The rules for using the SiteGround game website. Please read them before using the Site.

01Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern your use of https://site-ground.us (the “Site”), operated by the SiteGround game team (“we”, “us”, “our”).

By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the Site.

02Definitions

  • Site — the informational website about the Game, including all of its pages.
  • Game — SiteGround, an online game currently in development.
  • Content — text, graphics, images, logos, code, design and other materials on the Site.
  • Newsletter — emails about the project sent to users who subscribe.
  • Demo terminal — the interactive element on the Site that gives a simplified preview of Game concepts.

03Status of the Game and Site information

  • The Game is in development. As of the date of these Terms, it cannot be played.
  • Release dates, mechanics, features, platforms and the business model are preliminary and may change or never be implemented.
  • Images on the Site, including stock photographs, are for illustration only and are not screenshots of the Game.
  • The demo terminal is a simplified simulation. Its results are not saved, do not carry over to the Game and grant no rights or in-game benefits.
  • Nothing on the Site is an offer, a contract or a binding commitment. Subscribing to the Newsletter does not guarantee access to playtests or other events.

04Independence and trademarks

SiteGround the game and this Site are an independent project. We are not affiliated with, and are not a partner, reseller, representative or agent of, the hosting company SiteGround (siteground.com) or any of its affiliates, and we are not sponsored or endorsed by them. Any similarity in names does not imply any connection.

  • We do not provide web hosting, domain registration or any other services offered by that company, and we do not accept payment for such services. Anyone offering such services in the name of the Game is doing so without our knowledge.
  • Third-party names, logos and trademarks mentioned on the Site belong to their respective owners and are used for identification purposes only.
  • Our advertising promotes only the Game. It does not advertise the products or services of any third party and is designed to comply with applicable advertising laws, including the US Federal Trade Commission’s rules on truthful advertising, and the policies of the advertising platforms we use.

05Intellectual property

The Content is owned by us or used under license (including photographs licensed under the Unsplash License). You may not copy, distribute, modify or otherwise use the Content without our written permission, except as permitted by law — for example, quoting with attribution and a link to the Site.

06Acceptable use

When using the Site, you must not:

  • disrupt the Site, bypass its security measures or attempt to gain unauthorized access;
  • use automated tools to collect data in a way that places an excessive load on the Site;
  • submit someone else’s email address without their permission;
  • impersonate us or our representatives;
  • use the Game’s name or Content to mislead others, including about any connection between the Game and other companies.

07Newsletter

Subscribing is voluntary and requires your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email or by contacting us. We never send third-party advertising.

08Disclaimer of warranties

THE SITE AND ITS CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not guarantee that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that the Game will be released on any particular date or with any particular features.

09Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SITE. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.

11Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The new version takes effect when it is published on this page. By continuing to use the Site, you accept the updated Terms.

12Disputes

If you have a concern about the Site, please contact us first at [email protected] — most issues can be resolved quickly and informally. You agree to try to resolve any dispute informally for at least 30 days before starting formal proceedings. These Terms do not limit any rights you have under the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence.
